My passion for dance
was discovered at the age of 3, during an 80th birthday
party for her Great Grandmother. Still to this day, I am known by my
family as “the little girl that danced the night
away”.
I
studied numerous forms of dance including Tap, Jazz, Ballet and
Pointe as well as Gymnastics and Pom. I studied at Cathy
Carevic School of Dance in Taylor. There, I was a
member of the Dance Company by the age of 10 and a Junior Tap Line
member by the age of 12. Sadly, the studio closed in 1995 due to the
passing of my teacher and mentor, Cathy. Her death was very hard for
each and every student in the studio, but her love for dance lives
on in all of our hearts!
After testing the waters in a few local dance studios,
I decided to try out for the Annapolis High School Pom Pon Team.
There I made the Varsity team and performed and competed on the
State-Wide level.
After high school graduation, I decided to take a
break from dance to concentrate on college. It was only a year after
completing my courses that the “itch” for dance came
back!
I
have worked coaching the Westland Stars and Spirits Dance &
Cheer Team, Crestwood JV Pom Pon and Cabrini JV Pom Pon. I also
teach dance at 2 other locations in the Metro-Detroit area.
I
LOVE teaching, choreographing and I absolutely LOVE recital time!
I’m SUPER excited to be
with Dance For Fun this year and I cant wait to share my passion for
dance with all of my students.
