I
have been teaching baton for just about 20 years. I
starting teaching in a Parks and Recreation program, but decided
that individual instruction was more enjoyable for my
interests.
After moving to the
'west side' of town, I began teaching solo instruction at
Oakland
Community
College in Auburn
Hills. This is where the group still makes their practice
home, although with everyone being 'scattered', it is tough to get
the whole gang together at the same
time.
Golf is my 1st love and although I am not
ready for the LPGA, I do hold my own and enjoy my Friday night
league with my buddies. I have worked at EDS since 1985 - you could
say that I am definately a career woman. Although I do enjoy
teaching baton, it is not a full time job for me. Twirling is
a passion and in many ways, a form of stress relief!
My
other form of relaxation is vacationing with my wonderful husband
Jeff. Between EDS commitments and my three nights of teaching
twirling during the week, it takes a patient and understanding man
to put up with the kind of hours that I keep! We also enjoy
hiking the National Parks of the
US - we only have 6 more
States to go and we have enjoyed all
50!
My
current teaching schedule is Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after
work. Also, we practice on Sundays at the Beverly Hills Club
on Southfield
Road alongside our other
twirling friends, Derek's Dynamos.
I
am excited to start working with the Dance For Fun
team! |
