Meet Miss Kelly Haynes the clogging instructor at Dance for Fun. As a tot she began walking and dancing the same year and Dance...Dance...Dance became a lifetime passion.

Kelly was 16 years old she saw her first clogger, she was hooked. and has been clogging ever since. Kelly attended Central Michigan University where she joined Shane Gruber's clogging group the" Outsiders." The group performed with the Orchesis Dance Company in 2 shows per year. After Shane graduated he left the Outsiders to her along with his adult club and his credited clogging class for the University. She has been teaching ever since.

In 1998 Kelly began taking Irish dance from Michael O'Hare at his school of Irish dance.  She competed in her first Feis and scored a second in the hornpipe. Irish was fun, but clogging was her passion. In 1999 she earned the privilege to clog in the Citrus Bowl half time show with the Charlie Daniels Band.  It was a great experience! For a short time Kelly danced with the clogging team Rhythm Sensation with Brian Tucker and got to compete with the group at the 2004 Memorial Day Spectacular in Columbus. The group took first overall in the adult standing line category and third place in the young adult open-line category.  Kelly took first overall in the 21 & older amateur solo category.

Kelly attends 7-10 workshops a year. She has attended five national workshops and one world clogging workshop that brought in cloggers and dancers from all over the world. In 2002 Kelly joined the Michigan Cloggers Instructors Council (MCIC) where she was selected to teach at the annual workshop. Since that time her reputation as an instructor has grown and now teaches at five to seven workshops a year in Michigan and Canada. In 2005 Kelly was elected vice president of MCIC and has recently been voted President for the 2007-2008 term.  She has been working hard to promote clogging in Michigan and nation wide.

Kelly offers beginner though advanced classes at the Dance for Fun Studio and would love to have you join her in class.
